The Deloraine Royals completed the regular season with an 8 win, 6-loss record. This left them in second place in the South Division of the SWBL.
Wednesday, June 28:
The Royals lost 7-0 to the first place Boissevain Centennials. Jay Pringle no-hit the Royals to get the victory. Jeff Edwards took the loss for the Royals.
Friday, June 30
The Royals Mitch Olson hit a two-out 2-run homerun in the bottom of the seventh to walk off a 9-8 victory over the Rivers Comets. The hometown Royals entered their last bat down 8-7. Tyler Fletcher had a one-out single and one out later Olson hit a three-ball 2-strike pitch over the right center field fence for the win. Mitch Olson also got the win pitching 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for Randy Loucks and David Hodgson. Alexander McKinnon had a two-run first inning homerun, walked and singled. Jacob Weidenhamer contributed two singles. Mike McFadden had a 3-run homerun for Rivers.
Sunday, July 2
The Royals finished the season with an 11-6 extra-inning victory in Souris. The Royals gave up three runs with two out in the bottom of the seventh to allow Souris to tie the game 6-6. But the Royals pushed five runners across home plate in the 8th to seal the victory. James Edwards pitched all 8 innings to get the victory. Cole Olson, Jacob Weidenhamer and Tyler Fletcher each had three this. Mitch Olson and Alexander McKinnon contributed two hits each. The victory clinched second place and the Royals went on to play third place Hartney in the first round of the playoffs.
Game 1: Wednesday, July 5
Laughlin McKinnon hit a 3-run walk off homerun for a come back 7-6 victory in game one of the first round playoff game vs Hartney. Down 6-4 entering the bottom of the 7th Marc Edwards was hit by a pitch and David Hodgson singled setting the stage for McKinnon’s 2-out blast. Alexander McKinnon also had a 2-run homerun in the first. Mitch Olson had three hits and Tyler Fletcher added two singles. Nick Cowan had three this and drove in two runs and Finn Druwe had two hits and three RBIs for Hartney. Mitch Olson was the winning pitcher while Kent Wheaton took the loss.
Game 1: Thursday, July 6
Mark Derlago pitched Hartney to an 8-2 victory to even the series at 1-1. Tyson Holder had three hits and three RBIs for the winners. Cole Olson was four for four and Mitch Olson three for four for Deloraine.
Game 3: Monday, July 10 (Game 3)
Mark Derlago hit two 2-run homeruns to lead Hartney to an 8-4 victory over Deloraine and a 2-1 series victory. Hartney advances to the south division final of the SWBL. Tyson Holder was ¾ with three runs scored for the Hoppers. Ryan Reid was the winning pitcher allowing four runs in 5 1/3 innings. Mitch Olson had a double and homerun and drove in all four Deloraine runs. Jacob Weidenhamer had two singles and two walks. Eric Sorensen suffered the loss in relief of Mitch Olson.
