Erica Symchyshyn – Visual Arts adjudicator
The 39th annual Deloraine Border Festival got underway on April 2 and featured Piano. The second week features Visual Arts and Vocal. The following is some background about the Visual Arts adjudicator – Erica Symchyshyn.
Erica graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Manitoba in 2007, with a major in drawing. She is currently spending her artistic work focusing on acrylic painting and night and rural photography. Her work is often described as colorful, narrative and optimistic. Erica’s work has been displayed at Lagasse’s Studio of Fine Arts in Souris, MB, the University of Manitoba and Sweetpea & Willow in Killarney, MB. With regards to the performing arts, Erica has acted in three productions by Prairie Vision Arts Council. Erica is actively involved with the Boissevain Morton Arts Council, and previously with the Prairie Vision Arts Council and Melita Strand Theatre. Erica has facilitated a mural project with youth in Winnipeg’s west end, ran paint nights, as well as collaborated on other mural projects.
