Note: Al Szoradi has taken out papers to run for councilor in the Municipality of Deloraine-Winchester. All the candidates were given a set of questions to answer. The following are Al’s answers:
Question: What prompted you to run for council?
Answer: I was approached by some residents to run to make the Municipality of Deloraine-Winchester a community that works together.
Question: What qualities and experience do you have that would be beneficial for this role?
Answer: I have knowledge of the works of Council having been a previous councilor. I have lived in the community for 50 plus years. I believe I can bring experience and new ideas to the table.
Question: What do you think the top five challenges are in the municipality?
Answer: Heath Care, Taxes, Crumbling Infrastructure, New Businesses and Whitewater Lake issues.
Question: What changes/improvement would you like to see?
Answer: Work to be the voice of the people. Council to be more informative to the public. Spend time getting to know issues. Work as a team at the table.
Question: What is the community’s greatest resource(s)? How can we capitalize more on them?
Answer: The people of the Municipality. Band together when needed.
Question: What does the Municipality of Deloraine-Winchester look like in 20 years?
Answer: Hopefully being able to deliver the current level of services.
