RCMP news up to April 30

The following is the RCMP report to April 30, 2019.

April 16, 2019

Police received a report of a breach of a court order in Killarney. A male subject was arrested and charged. He will appear in court at a later date.

Police received a report of an assault with a weapon in Killarney. It was reported that a male chased another male down the street and hit with him a baseball bat. The male declined medical treatment. A male subject was located, arrested and charged with assault with a weapon. He was later released with an undertaking and will appear in court.  

Police received a report of identify theft in Killarney but the complainant couldn't provide any details. There was insufficient evidence to proceed.

Police received a report from a complainant in Killarney who felt their neighbor was spying on them. No evidence was found to support the claim.

April 17, 2019

Police were dispatched to an assault in Killarney. A male had punched another male in the face and damaged the residence. Police were enroute when the met the suspect’s vehicle. Police initiated a traffic stop. The male was arrested and charged with assault, mischief, fail to comply with a probation order, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, drive while disqualified, assault with a weapon and uttering threats. The male was taken to Brandon the following morning.

April 18, 2019

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in Deloraine. The matter was unfounded.

Police received a report of a stolen motorcycle in Boissevain. The bike was a blue 2002 Yamaha TTR90. The matter is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Boissevain RCMP.

Police were dispatched to a report of a semi truck rollover on road 102 and 36 in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain area. The male driver had minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police received a report of a moose vs vehicle on Highway 10 south of highway 23. Police attended and had to put the animal down. The driver was uninjured.

April 21, 2019

Police received a report of a stolen skidsteer that was stolen from a lot in Killarney. The matter is under investigation.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Boissevain.

April 22, 2019

Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Argyle when the vehicle was observed on private property. A white Suburban was observed driving slowly around the rural property on the roads and then entered onto the complainants property. When complainant came out of his shop, the vehicle fled southbound on Highway 5. No licence plate or other descriptions.

April 23, 2019

Police received a report of a break and enter to the Deloraine Movie Theatre. Police attended, forced entry found. The matter is under investigation.

April 24, 2019

Police were dispatched to a warehouse fire on Highway 18 in the Killarney-Turtle Mountain area. One male was taken to hospital with injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. 

Police received a report of impaired driving on Highway 5 near Baldur. Vehicle description and plate number were received. Police attended Baldur and made extensive patrols in the area and attended the registered owners residence. The residence was dark with no signs of movement in the residence. Highway patrolled in the area no vehicle matching the description was located.

April 25, 2019

Police received a report of uttering threats in the RM of Whitewater. The complainant declined to press charges.

April 26, 2019

Police were patrolling Killarney when a blue four door sedan made a very wide turn onto Broadway Avenue. A traffic stop was initiated and a male with a warrant out of Brandon was located in the vehicle. He was arrested. The driver blew a pass on the roadside screening device and was released.

Police received a report of a male who breached his no contact order again. The male was arrested, charged and remanded to Brandon Correction Centre.

Members received two calls for service on Hossack Avenue in Killarney. One was from next door neighbor, and one was from the home itself. Police attended to find an intoxicated male outside. The intoxicated home owner did not want him at the residence anymore. Police arrested and lodged one male for the night. Released the following day.

April 28, 2019

Police received a call from Brandon Police Service of a missing youth from a Brandon group home and was believed to be in Boissevain. The male was located and transported back to Brandon.

April 29, 2019

Police received a report of a black truck, unknown marker, was driving quite quickly through the yield sign at Hamilton and Hossack in Killarney. Patrols will be made in the school area frequently.

Police received a complainant regarding some information shared on facebook. The matter is under investigation.

Police assisted with a matter under the Mental Health Act in Killarney.

Police received a report of a stranded motorist in the Turtle Mountains. Everyone was located safe.

April 30, 2019

Police received a report of running vehicle on the Holmfield road with a male subject passed out in the drivers seat. Police attended and woke the sleeping male. The road side screening device was given and the male blew 0%. Police then conducted the sobriety field drug test and the male passed.

Police received a request for a well being check in Killarney. Everyone located safe.

A bicycle was turned into the Killarney Detachment and can be claimed by description.

Boissevain RCMP business hours will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Deloraine RCMP business hours for April and May are Thursday are 8:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The general public is encouraged to attend during those hours to ensure someone will be here. It is also recommended to call ahead, however, in the event of an emergency, call 911 or the emergency line.
