Paige Lawrence, Olympian and former pairs skater, was the keynote speaker at Waskada Skating Club’s fundraiser (for the arena) on April 13. Her motivational presentation included lessons she learned throughout her skating career. She had stories to go with each point and then she did a Question and Answer where she answered a lot of neat questions about her Olympic experience.
Before the evening started, Paige met with the STARSkaters from Waskada to do a meet and greet – Eve Griffith, Townsly McMillan, Dylan Radcliffe, Charlie Lee, Sadie Guenther, Ainslee McGregor and coach Sharlene McGregor. They had their picture taken with Paige, got her autograph and even had the opportunity to try on one of Lawrence’s Olympic jackets.
Ainslee McGregor and Seoul Tilokani just wrapped up their first year of pair skating and they were very excited to meet Lawrence and have their picture taken with her as well.
