The Health Auxiliary executive includes: President - Verna Vanhove; Secretary - Mary Ellen Morrison and Treasurer - Donna Tweed/Jan Weidenhamer. There were 54 members in 2015 and the average attendance at meetings was 12.
The Auxiliary meets on the third Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the Rendezvous Restaurant. In June we met at the Legion for a catered supper. We recessed during July and August.
The Auxiliary provided 694.5 hours of volunteer time.
Members assist with Blood Donor Clinics by occasionally providing cookies. There is a Board member on Donor’s Choice as well as members that help canvas. A member coordinates Meals-on-Wheels and there are members that help deliver the meals.
In April, the Auxiliary hosted the Spring Regional Conference. In May, we held a Spring Coffee Party at the PCH for the residents and community.
The Auxiliary provides bursaries of $200 for student entering a medical field and again for their second year.
The Auxiliary purchases memorials for deceased members or their families.
We served cookies and beverages at the Flu Clinic. We also have a silver collection at this event.
The Auxiliary provides oranges to the Lodge and PCH at Christmas. There is a Christmas party at the PCH with singing and the Auxiliary provides dainties for coffee.
We applied and received funds from the Southwest Manitoba Regional Foundation.
The Auxiliary’s fundraisers for 2015 included the Spring Tea, Deloraine & Area Donor’s Choice, bench raffle and the Fall Tea.
The Auxiliary donated to Camp Bridges, Farm Safety, the Handi-Van, Lodge and the PCH.
The largest equipment purchase the Auxiliary made this year was the Stryker Stretcher for the EMS.
