Deloraine School Social Justice Club set a goal of raising $725 for WE Walk for Water. They fundraised by hosting Hat Fridays from March 1st to June 7th, and a bake sale. On the final day a $100 Ugly Hat Challenge was proposed to ensure that they met the goal. The school raised $761.00! Social Justice was confident that they would meet this goal, so $725 was sent to WE Villages by the May 17th deadline for the “double my impact”, funds matching incentive. Because of these efforts, funds were matched, and $1,450 was added to the clean water campaign; clean water for 58 people!!! UGLY HATS WERE WORN after this fun challenge! Social Justice appreciates the students in K-6 and Gr. 10 for designing the 2 ugly hats.
