Delodaze is this weekend - Saturday, June 25 - a music fest at the Fairgrounds. If it is inclement weather it will be held in the Doc Bonar Arena. Tickets are available at the Municipal office or at the gate. Prior to the music line-up there will be fun games including bubble soccer. Several teams are already signed up - this in itself promises to be great entertainment. See you at Delodaze!

In this issue, several youth were recognized for their outstanding achievements outside of academics - in the areas of 4-H, music and the Arts to name a few. All these extra activities help to develop well-rounded individuals. Employers look for these extras, especially if there is a close race between potential employees. Encourage your kids to take parting some of these extras offered in the community and through the school.

And how about the Forget-Me-Not Quilting Froup based out of Goodlands! They created 47 quilts to be sent to Fort McMurray - and they only started making these beautiful items when they learned of the devastating fire in the northern Alberta city. That’s some fast work! They held a showing of these quilts at the Goodlands Community Hall this week - 47 in total! You gals rock! Way to go!

This week the Odd Job Squad started some of our summer events. We began by painting local business’s windows to show their Canada Day pride and we would like to thank these businesses for their support! This Sunday, June 26, we will be having a Hot Dog sale at the Royals Senior Baseball double header from 4:45-6:30 p.m. Come on down to the diamonds and enjoy a hot dog and a drink while watching the teams play and warm up! Also don’t forget that if you need an odd job done around your home, the students and youth of Deloraine are willing to help you out. If you are looking for help around your home, have a vacant position at your place of employment or have any questions about upcoming events, please call 431-236-3122, e-mail delorainemyjc@gov.mb.ca or stop by the office at the Tourist Booth! Make sure to keep your eyes open for the posters around town, articles in the paper, ads on access TV, postings on the Winchester page, and signs on the sandwich board for all of the MYJC’s upcoming events!
